Strength from Diversity

We believe, from direct experience and supported by well-established, available research, that diverse boards generally make for better boards. The founder of BoardBench, Nancy May has a long history of successfully researching, supporting, and promoting the value of diverse professionals in the boardroom and corporate executive leadership ranks.

While diversity is important, excellence is paramount. We have found that each of our clients can readily espouse the value of boardroom diversity — whether of gender, background, culture, experience, or thought. However, it is just as important for us to seek out and recruit those board candidates who will best build and maintain excellence within the boards on which they will serve.

With each new client, we discuss diversity and how it relates to their business, their employees, their customers, and all stakeholders. At times, these discussions may hands.jpgbe challenging. We work with all to make sure the conversation is comfortable and honest, and that such questions are addressed up front prior to commencing each relationship.

In all cases, through our board assignments, we bring forth excellent directors who bring broad and diverse expertise into the boardroom so as to best increase long-term value for all stakeholders.
